[Left at the entrance of the Last Homely House are a couple of small packages. In each are various dried fruits, unlabeled tea leaves, and jerked meat. A note is left on each, one with 'Gaignun' on it and the other with 'Sephiroth'. As well, there is a small message written on the notes (written in the same style as the message written on the back of the drawing Gaignun received not too long ago).]

[A letter somehow appears to have drifted onto Sephiroth's desk, forgotten or perhaps merely missed until now. It's made of heavy parchment, and the writing is elegant, though it occasionally wavers. Perhaps very faintly, the parchment smells of smoke.]

Dearest Sephiroth,

I wonder at times, during the darkest of nights as the cold burns into my aching bones, if what I believe to be memories are in fact yet more delusions. I wouldn’t put it past my failing mind and body to try and grant me such sweet succor, a false relief from the agony which haunts me with each faltering breath. I am dying before my own eyes, and I have long since given up hope on Hollander’s lie after lie about possible cures. My only hope left seems to rest with you – and you, my sweet, deluded, and beautifully broken Sephiroth; you are far beyond my reach now. At Minerva’s side, or in a realm that must be the result of a fever-dream, you are lost to me until I, too, will rejoin the Lifestream.

I have long known that this day was coming, that this fate would befall me. For all that I have fought for recognition and heroism, it seems that I am truly destined to die along, unloved, and unmourned.

I will never be the Hero. My only chance to gain any sort of lasting memory may be to become the Villain. If no one else will inscribe my name into the annals of history, then I shall burn it there myself.

Watch me. I’ll join you in fire and ash.
