Mission 10: [Voice]

[Since Sephiroth is currently bandaged on a bed in the clinic, he is not feeling terribly inclined to activate the video function of his PCD. The announcement he wants to make doesn't require him to be seen.]

I have completed my initial work of editing and updating the previously existing briefing for new arrivals. The revised briefing packet can be located here. [Insert network link here.]

I am available for feedback and suggestions if anyone believes vital information has been left out or presented poorly.

[Yes. This is what Sephiroth has been doing while confined to a bed in the clinic. Working. The man does not seem to have any conception of the meaning of 'inactivity'. Let alone 'complete bed rest'. It doesn't help that he is chafing at being in the clinic while other people have been investigating the Inner City.]

I am recovering. I would prefer to go home tomorrow, in all honesty, but I suspect I will not be allowed to leave for several more days.

Yeah, well its always better to take the extra few days. I mean, even if you don't want to, it helps reassure the people who are worried, yanno?

[Hanna has got the memo, a few times over, thanks.]

I dunno if Riku told you or not, but we're folding paper cranes still, if you wanted to help that might take up some of your time. Its at least giving your hands something to do.

[He's not accustomed to having people worry over him, either, Hanna.] I suppose so. If nothing else, it will no doubt spare me several lectures.

[Yeah, Riku hands that one out in bold type. With italics. And possibly capslock.]

It would, but I don't actually know how to fold paper cranes.

Exactly. I mean, this is kind of bad, but you learn to drown out the lectures you get anyways if you get hurt enough.

[He doesn't listen to a thing his doctor says to him any more.]

Um, well if you wouldn't mind a visit, I would teach you! It's really simple...and takes up some time too.

[Sort of like Angeal's 'dreams and honor' lectures, then.] I believe that occurs with any overused lecture.

[He minds. He totally minds. But Hanna is Riku's friend and housemate even if Sephiroth doesn't really know him, so blowing him off because Seph doesn't like being seen laid up probably isn't acceptable.] Very well.

My doctor at home acts like some freaky mother hen, its kind of creepy, so I usually just ignore him. His lectures are never really the same though...just a lot of yelling.

[Hanna seems a little excited about this because he hasn't been getting out of the house much since his little run in with a vampire last weekend.]

Kay, i'll bring you over some paper! And if you get bored of cranes, I can teach you how to fold some other stuff too.

Creepy doctors, unfortunately, do not seem to be uncommon.

[Oh well. He really does need something to occupy his time. Even if it's one of Riku's derps and a pile of paper.] That would be acceptable.

Really? Do you have one back home?

[Hanna's on his way now, and don't dis the paper man, folding can be therapeutic and calming.]

I'll be there in like, ten minutes!

More than one, unfortunately, though only one could really be called 'mine', precisely. [Hollander was Angeal and Genesis' creepy doctor and Sephiroth didn't have much to do with the man before things started going south.

And it's not the paper he's dissing, Hanna.]

I'm hardly going anywhere.

Oh geez. Well I have this vampire who buys me groceries, and my doctor is probably addicted to the runes I give him as payment, and then Lamont...He's kind of creepy too, but he's nice. I seriously think he has something going on under that delivery business of his.

[Be careful Seph, he might just grow on you.]

Well, I know, but I just wanted to tell you. So then you're not like, wondering when i'm going to show up. Cause I know some people who say they're going to be there, and then they don't actually leave until like an hour or two later.

Have you ever considered reevaluating your life choices? [His tone is more than a little dry.]

Understood. [That is code for 'you're babbling, stop it'.]

Uh...No? I mean, pays the bills, so I know i'm doing something right!

[A very persistent fungus.

But he's just now walking through the door of the clinic and finding him. No where to hide, Seph.]

Hey! Um, Hi!

[Yeah, he's just... on a bed. In the clinic. Bandaged and stuff. Also? Bored out of his fucking mind.]

Hello, Hanna.

You look seriously bored dude! But I brought paper, so maybe we can remedy that for a little bit.

[Hanna doesn't ask before sitting on Sephiroth's sickbed, paper ready. He hands him a hot pink piece of paper with a flower print on it, picking up a green for himself.]

You ready to learn to fold cranes?

I'm not accustomed to extended inactivity.

[Why do Riku's derps keep insisting on invading his personal space and sitting on his bed? He can put up with it, though.

Hot pink flowery paper? Not so much. He gives Hanna a pointed look before swapping it out with a more reasonably colored red piece.] Yes.

I can imagine. I was stuck in bed last weekend for just a day and a half and I didn't like it at all. When are you due to leave?

[He doesn't notice his irritance at him sitting on his bed, and starts to teach him to fold, explaining each little crease and fold until his perfect little crane is sitting there.]

Thats one of the simple ones. If you get bored of that I can teach you how to make awesome stuff, like a dinosaur.

Not for several more days. I have been severely damaged before but my previous physician preferred me to return to activity as soon as possible. [Because Hojo is a dick.]

[Sephiroth pays attention and copies the folds on his piece of paper. He's slow and meticulous about it because he's never done this before, but his crane comes out disgustingly perfect for a first try.]

You can make a dinosaur out of a sheet of paper? [Oh Seph, why are you encouraging him?]

Wait, really? That's retarded and not healthy. The guy sounds like a total douchebag. Like, looking at you now its kind of obvious you shouldn't be walking around for a while. No offense, but someone did you in good.

[Hanna is rather excited that he got it perfect on the first try because hey, most of his students here had taken quite a few tries and didn't listen so good.]

Awesome! That ones like, better than mine! So...Dinosaur. Lets see. I don't make them that often, so give me a minute.

[He stares at the paper a minute before remembering just what he needs to do, starting to fold.]

He is, but he is more aware of my physical capabilities and limits than anyone other than myself. [Biggest douchebag ever. Especially since he got said awareness by testing said physical capabilities TO said limits. And sometimes beyond them.] I am badly injured, but my body is significantly enhanced. I am quite capable of 'walking around'. Unohana would disapprove strenuously, however.

[Sephiroth has experienced a lot of pressure to be perfect in everything he does. It sort of lingers. He watches Hanna work on the dinosaur as he absently reaches for a new piece of paper.]
