'Normal' has never really been a word that applied to me very well. [He picks up his tea and sips at it before saying anything else. Just being here, in Unohana's presence, is more comforting than he thinks it should be.]

Perhaps if it were otherwise, I would have a better idea of how to deal with my own reaction.

When someone is sad, they should deal with grief in their own way ... but sharing the burden with someone who understand helps, Sephiroth-san.

I have been here for three years and a half. I have seen many people come and go. Many I called friends.

It is a possibility. Nothing is permanent, but if you have attachments, you have to work to keep them ... and sometimes even that will not be enough.

But woud you rather be alone, and not suffer, or run the risk of suffering and enjoy the good times?

I have had enough of being alone. But the idea of gaining companions only to find myself alone once more in the end is... unpleasant.

[Frightening, but even with Unohana, Sephiroth can't admit to fear.]

That's understandable. But in the end, I suppose it is your choice to make. Things are rarely a hundred percent good or bad, after all.

[If she guessed, she's not telling. She doesn't know that much about him, really, but she can see enough in his attitude to know this was not a happy child.]
