Mission 3 : [Video]

[The PCD is not picking up Sephiroth very well because he's holding it in one hand and moving a lot, but there are flashes of leather, silver hair, and steel. Mostly, what the PCD is picking up is the absolute devastation around him. Sephiroth is out in one of the more urban areas of the Wastelands, and he is destroying it. The mangled corpse of a horned worm is briefly visible as Sephiroth leaps into the air.

There's a quick series of slashes, visible as flickering steel in the feed, but more revealed by the arcs of blue-white light that result, cutting through a building and sending it crashing apart in pieces.]

This is unsatisfactory. Is there anyone willing to spar with me? In the interest of full disclosure, I am capable as both swordsman and magic user, and I am not in the best of moods.

[Unohana dodges with flash step again, not nearly as fast as she can, just fast enough not to get touched.

And she can't help noticing that in spite of his obvious unsettlement, he is a very, very skilled swordsman. He went straight for what would have been an immobilizing slash. If it had been anyone else, and they hadn't dodged, their tendons would have been slashed and they would have been helpless.

She holds out a hand has she 'reappears'/slows down.]

Bakudou no yon ! Hainawa !

[A rope of yellow energy shoots out, lookng to entangle his arms. It's only low-level kidou and she's testing the waters. She has no doubt she'll have to resort to something packing more of a punch.]

[Better watch out. Sephiroth is a quick study, and while he can't see you properly when you move that fast, there are other ways of locating an opponent. And he's already looking for one that works.

The moment he sees the rope, he lashes out with Masamune. Not to attack the rope with the steel, which could result in a tangled nodachi, but to use one of the arcs of energy to cut it.]

Quake. [This is mostly a test to see how shaking ground affects her ability to flash step.]

[The answer is, not much, since shinigami can flash step on air as if it were solid. She increases her speed slightly, and rushes in, swinging Minazuki in an arc meant to cut from bottom to top.]

[Sephiroth can jump as well as Unohana or any other Shinigami, and does so, up and over her head, inverting himself as his right hand flicks down towards her. A different materia lights up.]

Firaga. [Three fireballs coming at your head and he is going to hate himself if he actually burns you, but...]

[No time to block, and she is not sure of any of her shielding kidou will resist to that, so instead, she holds out her sword in front of her and gives it a light push. It starts spinning at high speed, and then she grabs the hilt.]

Hadou no gojuuhachi ! Tenran !

[A small tornado erupts from the sword, swallowing the fireballs and sending them away.

It is her first time fighting against someone with Materia, and she is just getting to understand how much power they can pack. Probably depending on the skill of the user as well, and Sephiroth looks like he is a very, very skilled user.]

[He wasn't given much of a choice. Sephiroth was always expected to provide nothing less than excellence.

Whatever type of magic this is, it's clearly something with the potential to cause him trouble. The light shifts to a third materia as Sephiroth lands lightly on his feet, Masamune held in a defensive position.]

Silence. [So....how's Unohana's resistance to status effects?]

[Offline] Victory over screwy notifications ... I hope.

[She feels it take a hold of her, almost choking. She has never felt anything quite like this before. It is ... powerful.

However, she is a Gotei 13 Captain. And she hasn't even started to get serious yet. A soft white light starts to glow around her as she focuses her reiatsu. The spiritual pressure slowly increases until it becomes almost physical, pressing down on everything around. She has to watch herself not to let too much seep through, because she would not want to hurt the wildlife by doing so ... or anyone else not involved, really.

She just hopes that the effect ends after some time, because she is not sure of how to dispel it, and she'll have to rely on her sword in the meantime.]
