Mission 3 : [Video]

[The PCD is not picking up Sephiroth very well because he's holding it in one hand and moving a lot, but there are flashes of leather, silver hair, and steel. Mostly, what the PCD is picking up is the absolute devastation around him. Sephiroth is out in one of the more urban areas of the Wastelands, and he is destroying it. The mangled corpse of a horned worm is briefly visible as Sephiroth leaps into the air.

There's a quick series of slashes, visible as flickering steel in the feed, but more revealed by the arcs of blue-white light that result, cutting through a building and sending it crashing apart in pieces.]

This is unsatisfactory. Is there anyone willing to spar with me? In the interest of full disclosure, I am capable as both swordsman and magic user, and I am not in the best of moods.

I don't want to leave it alone if you're upset.

Sometimes people would rather have it left alone, Usagi.

[x,y] What you do is your decision, however. You're not a child, after all.

[The feed jars as she starts to walk.]

[Sephiroth makes a small noncommittal sound, but really, the fact that he hasn't told her flat out to leave him alone means he could use the company.

When she reaches the coordinates, the area looks like there's been a disaster here. Which is not entirely untrue. The disaster's name was Sephiroth, and he's still there.]

[She takes one look at the rubble, and heads straight towards Sephiroth.]

Are you hurt?

[There's some dead monsters lying around, too. Sephiroth flicks his sword clean and sheaths it for now.]

I'm uninjured. I'm not easy to damage. [Yes. Yes he is hurt and that is why he's avoiding the word because none of it is physical.]

Then let's start.

[She raises a hand into the air, ready to call her transformation phrase.]

[Well, out comes Masamune again but Sephiroth holds it in a defensive stance for now. He has no idea what Usagi's particular abilities entail, so he's going to wait and let her act first.]

[She is someone who can hold her own against him.]

[And in a blaze of light and power, Sailor Moon (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l58MUqtQe2I) stands in Usagi's place.]

[Well. That's....flashy. It's almost amusing, but it's also something he's never seen before so he's not going to take it, or her, lightly. Sephiroth gestures with his right hand and a green materia glows, much like the time he cured her wrist. However, this is not a Curaga spell.]

Blizzaga. [So now there's a large chunk of ice trying to fall on you, Usagi.]

[As if his spells and especially summoning in his world aren't just as flashy and don't come with pretty light shows of their own.

No, the weird part here? Are the hearts. Coming out of her scepter (which was not there a second ago). Shattering the ice into harmless, glittering pieces.]

[Okay, summons, he will grant you. Summons and most limit breaks are just as flashy and overblown as that. He really thinks the hearts are a bit much, though.]

...I thought those went away two weeks ago. [He's refraining from attacking with his sword because she's showing no signs of having an actual weapon to defend with. So magic and specials it is, for now. A different orb flashes, and it's exactly what it says on the tin.] Quake.

Kyah!

[That's a different story, and she does a rather funny-looking dance as she scrambles to keep her footing.]

[The fact that she does manage to keep her footing fairly decently, regardless of how silly she looks doing it, is a promising sign. Sephiroth, of course, stands untouched in the center of his own spell.]

Don't just defend. [The advice is accompanied by a single slash of Sephiroth's sword sending an arc of energy at her. You know, the same type of arc that cut through a building?]

KYAH!

[Geez, nothing like going hard on her. But she trusts Sephiroth won't actually try to hurt her. She throws her arms up in front of her to take the brunt of the blast. The uniform starts to show signs of wear.]

[This isn't going hard on her. Tossing about eight or nine of the things at her? THAT might be going hard on her. One isn't really that hard to dodge for someone with the sense Gaia gave a hamster, Usagi. He's starting to think of this as training more than a spar, though.]

Usagi. Dodge. Blocking when you could dodge is only wise if you have something other than yourself to block with. [Look out, there goes another green orb lighting up.]

Firaga. [Three fireballs coming your way.]

[The trouble is she's not thinking of it as more than a friendly exercise. Her strength doesn't tend to come out normally. On the other hand, she still has senshi speed and reflexes - which let her dodge just as he said.]

[He's starting to suspect something like that, honestly. There's no way this is the best she's capable of. Sephiroth switches spells again.]

Blizzaga. You're not giving this your all, Usagi.

But, this is just for practice, right? So...

[So it's hard for her to really get serious.]

The point of practice is to hone your skills for when they're needed. If you're not serious about it, you won't get much out of it.

[He wasn't usually all that serious about practice anymore, but that was mostly because he had very few sparring partners that could hold up if he was. It was kind of disappointing.]

[She nods firmly.]

Alright then.

[Once she moves herself into gear, she turns out to be fast.]

[Now that is more like it. A barely visible flicker of satisfaction crosses Sephiroth's face as he launches himself after her. He's more than just a little fast himself. Masamune is coming back into play now, though when he strikes at her leg, it's with the back, blunt curve of the blade.]

[She actually grins as she starts to get into it.]

You're really fast! But so am I!
